Digital precision, Swiss discipline
The Weiss EQ1 MK2 is the digital equaliser mastering engineers trust when the move has to be exact. Seven fully parametric bands, dynamic operation on any of them, and a filter design so clean that a 0.2 dB adjustment is genuinely audible as tone rather than as artefact.

Why hardware and not a plugin
Two reasons. The EQ1's dynamic bands behave with a smoothness that plugin ports still do not match, and running it in the digital domain after our converters means we can make ultra-fine corrections without another AD/DA pass.
Our favourite use
De-harshing. A dynamic band centred around 3 kHz, threshold set so it only engages on the loudest vocal peaks, and a problem that used to require automation disappears in a single pass. Likewise a dynamic low band to control a bass note that rings hotter than its neighbours.
Hardware info
Weiss hardware carries a premium that reflects thirty years of being the reference. The EQ1 MK2 remains one of the most expensive equalisers per band in professional audio.
