GOLY Porter Grinder EQ
GOLY Porter Grinder EQ (OG Model with 23 Stepped Blore-Edwards Resistor Switches)
Boutique, stepped, and stubbornly analogue
The GOLY Porter Grinder in our rack is an original-generation unit with 23 stepped Blore-Edwards resistor switches — the same switch stock used in the most revered mastering equalisers ever built. Nothing about it is convenient. Everything about it is repeatable.

The sound
Where the Stam is a scalpel and the Manley is a paintbrush, the Porter Grinder is a press. Boosts have weight and density; cuts feel like something was removed from the room rather than filtered from the signal. It is our choice when a master needs authority in the 100–250 Hz region without turning muddy.
Why stepped switches matter
A Blore-Edwards switch means channel-to-channel matching is measured in fractions of a decibel, and a setting written down today can be dialled back in identically next year. For album work and for revision requests months later, that is not a luxury.
Hardware info
Hand-built in tiny numbers with switch banks that cost more than most complete outboard units, the Porter Grinder is one of the rarest pieces in the building.
